Balanced Minds (tea blend)
A Third New Tea!
This tea blend took me completely by surprise and then once I put it all together I realised I had made something new and glorious!
This blend came to me as I was trying to keep up with caring for my spearmint herbs. They did awesome until one day it just got too hot and they fried. I was hopeful to add them to a tea, so once this happened I sat with it all. I enjoyed the mint so much as it helped my mind wake up and have clarity during the moments of my day that came be stressful. I wanted to think of how to pivot.
This got the gears in my brain moving! I created a tea blend to help support your gut since your gut acts as your second mind.
Next year I plan to make 2 garden beds just for spearmint and peppermint. I do have a Gingko tree, but she needs more time to grow and develop before I can harvest the leaves. I bought this tree a few years back as a sapling. We honestly thought she died due to the harsh weather last year. But with all the summer rain we had here in MN she woke up and began to thrive!
The new blend I have created is called Balanced Minds!
It includes 7 powerful herbs:
Hops: Aids digestions, calms anxiety, aids in regulating blood sugar, plus vitamin C and B.
Papaya Leaf: Aids digestion, supports your immune system with vit A,C, and E, rich in flavonoids that can aid in calming stress.
Spearmint: Calms bloating, balances hormones, improves memory and cognitive function.
Ashwagandha Root: Reduces stress and anxiety as it lowers cortisol, reduces fatigue, aids in cognitive function and so much more!
Gingko Leaf: Aids in supporting memory and attention, improves circulation of blood to your brain, protects neurons, and has antidepressant effects.
Peppermint Leaf: Supports digestion, respiratory and cognitive, plus it's antibacterial.
Saffron Threads: This very powerful herb supports all of the above! An antioxidant, supports cognitive and memory and focus, supports the heart and aids in regulating neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine, reduces bloating and more.
Experience with this blend:
This blend is light and bright, that’s how I’ve experienced it. My oldest enjoyed it so much he drank a whole pitcher of it one day. I got home from work and I got a thumbs up from him about it.
It’s helped with my perimenopausal brain on days when life seems to have a lot of directions to it. This tea helped me process in a grounded way. Everything from day to day regular life expectations to the moments when you really need to dial in and focus. This blend has helped support my mind through the many shifts and simply soothes.
Important to note, this is true of all my teas: When made hot they are only to be steeped for 1 minute otherwise you will scald the herbs. It will still be drinkable but it may be bitter and not as palatable. You are welcome to add honey to yours, it will not take away from the plant's properties.
Some feedback that I’ve received from the people testing the tea blends… I’ve been informed that when you steep it for 1 minute, it’s possible to get 5 uses out of each tea bag. This is for when you are making hot tea of course.
It’s been so much fun having a garden again and incorporating so much of this into regular life. Growing, maintaining, weeding, watering when it is needed, harvesting, and then making these creations. Thanks for exploring with me!
