The How and Why of My Business

I get asked often about my skill set with bodywork and my other abilities and I had to think about it for a while. I thought, who’s got time for that long of a read? I’m 42 years old and the foundation of it all started crazy young. It started with my folks, both smart and capable people that didn't come from the best environment but took that experience to build a better life together.

My dad came from a large family with tradesmen and my mom came from two parents that each had multiple jobs in trades. Both sides have a past of being poor and simply working hard. I learned in any profession you can have skilled and unskilled people.

Even though in my childhood we didn’t have much money, in fact I would call us poor, money wasn’t what mattered most. Which doesn't mean it didn’t get stressed about, it simply wasn’t at the core of our family values. Having integrity, trust, communication, strong ethics, team work, and boundaries were.

My dad attempted a business at one point and my mom managed the finances. That didn’t thrive for a variety of reasons. Then my mom joined things that she believed in to help others thrive. She would take me with her because where else would I go? I would simply observe what was going on but I didn’t understand half of it. Even so, I enjoyed the time with her. I think back on those moments with warmth in my heart because she died when I was 12 years old. I think I soaked up as much time with her as I could while she was physically on earth.

So, when I get asked why I do things the way I do, it’s simply in my nature from how I was raised. I don't think about it. I just do what feels right to do regardless of what's going on around me. I listen to my instincts from my guides and the values instilled in me from my parents. My parents did mess up, but in these areas they did well.

I knew someday I would have my own business and to be honest I think I spent the first 18 years working and gaining a variety of business skills. None of it was conscious by any means but as I look back on it I see how it plays in my own business now. I learned what not to do, what I liked and didn't like, and what to add to my tool kit if you will.

At the end of the day the biggest and one of the most important parts to me was to keep a balance between my business and family. I absolutely LOVE what I do and the ability to help where my skills allow. In my heart and at my root, my family comes first and that is 100% from my parents. That’s why I live and work in Monticello, to be close to my family, to be available if needed.

This is also why my goal with each soul I have the honor of working with is the same. My goal is to meet you where you are emotionally, physically, and financially to help educate you on how muscles, fascia, reiki, sound healing, crystals, and aromatherapy may help you reach your personal goal. I also want to help you understand how to listen to your body and its needs. Allowing you to keep doing the things you enjoy. Plus, if things are beyond my skill I do refer others I know and trust to continue building a network of like minded business owners and healers.
